3. How we use information
We may use personal information to create and secure accounts; authenticate users; save progress; provide lessons, practice, and purchased content; manage subscriptions and digital purchases; provide support; communicate about service-related matters; prevent fraud and abuse; maintain security; troubleshoot problems; improve features; comply with law; and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. PathForward Learning does not intentionally store complete credit-card numbers or banking credentials in its own application database. Payment providers may collect and process payment information under their own privacy policies and legal obligations.
5. AI and automated study features
If AI Study Help or another automated feature is enabled, prompts, questions, and related context submitted to that feature may be processed by an AI or technology service provider in order to generate a response or operate the feature. Users should not submit highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, or confidential information into study prompts.
6. How information may be shared
PathForward Learning does not sell personal information for money. Information may be disclosed to service providers and contractors that help operate the platform, including hosting, infrastructure, authentication, payment processing, security, analytics, communications, storage, customer support, and AI technology providers, but only as reasonably necessary for those services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, government request, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or prevent fraud.
7. Third-party websites and services
The service may link to third-party educational, career, payment, technology, or official testing resources. PathForward Learning does not control those third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy notices and terms.
8. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
PathForward Learning and its service providers may use cookies, local storage, session technologies, or similar tools for authentication, security, preferences, essential functionality, and analytics. Browser settings may allow you to limit certain technologies, although doing so may affect account or site functionality.
9. Data retention
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the service, maintaining account and transaction records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, enforcing agreements, and satisfying legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable requirements.
10. Data security
PathForward Learning uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No website, application, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure, and users are responsible for protecting their passwords and devices.
11. Children and minors
PathForward Learning is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13 through account registration. A child under 13 should not create an account or submit personal information. Users between 13 and 17 should use the service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required by law. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 was collected without legally sufficient authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Parent or guardian requests
A parent or legal guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information to PathForward Learning may email support@pathfowardlearning.com to request review or deletion. We may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of the requester before acting on the request.
13. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Some information may be retained when legally required or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, transactions, dispute resolution, or enforcement of agreements.
14. Requests to access, correct, or delete information
Privacy requests may be submitted to support@pathfowardlearning.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will respond as required by applicable law and may deny or limit a request where an exception applies.
15. U.S. state privacy disclosures
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights under state law. Where such laws apply to PathForward Learning, we will honor applicable verified requests and required opt-out rights. PathForward Learning does not discriminate against users for exercising legally protected privacy rights.
