Terms of Use
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of PathForward Learning, including free study content, PathForward Plus, digital workbooks, account features, and any related educational tools. By creating an account, purchasing a product or subscription, or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Independent educational service
PathForward Learning is an independent study and practice service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by, or operated by GED Testing Service LLC, the American Council on Education, any state department of education, any state testing agency, or any school district unless expressly stated in writing.
2. Not a school, testing provider, or credential issuer
PathForward Learning is not an accredited school, college, testing center, diploma program, degree-granting institution, licensing agency, or credential issuer. It does not award diplomas, GED® credentials, high school equivalency credentials, academic credit, licenses, certifications, official scores, or testing appointments.
3. Trademark notice
GED® is a registered trademark of the American Council on Education (ACE) and is administered by GED Testing Service LLC. References to GED® are used only to identify the type of high school equivalency preparation learners may be seeking. PathForward Learning does not claim ownership of the GED® trademark or any official GED® test materials.
4. Original study aid only
PathForward Learning provides original educational explanations, practice questions, study tools, and learning support. It does not provide official GED® test questions, leaked test content, official answer keys, official testing software, official scores, or confidential testing materials.
5. No guarantee of passing, admission, employment, or eligibility
Use of PathForward Learning does not guarantee that a learner will pass the GED® test or any other high school equivalency examination, qualify to take an examination, gain admission to a school or program, obtain employment, receive a promotion, or qualify for any license, benefit, or credential. Outcomes depend on many factors outside PathForward Learning's control.
6. State and program requirements vary
Eligibility rules, testing options, required scores, residency requirements, age requirements, identification rules, fees, approved testing providers, and credential policies can vary by state, jurisdiction, school, employer, or program and may change over time. Users are responsible for confirming current official requirements directly with the applicable government agency, testing provider, school, employer, or other official source.
7. Educational content may change or contain errors
PathForward Learning works to provide useful and accurate educational material, but educational content, examples, explanations, links, technology, and references may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Content may be revised, corrected, replaced, or removed at any time. Users should not rely on PathForward Learning as the sole source for official requirements or high-stakes decisions.
8. Accounts and user responsibility
Users are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting their login credentials, and all activity that occurs through their account. Accounts may not be sold, transferred, shared for commercial use, or used to bypass access limits. PathForward Learning may suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraud, abuse, unauthorized redistribution, security threats, or violations of these Terms.
9. Age requirements
PathForward Learning is not intended for children under 13. A person under 13 may not create an account or submit personal information through the service. Users between 13 and 17 should use the service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.
10. PathForward Plus subscriptions
PathForward Plus is a recurring monthly subscription unless the checkout page expressly states otherwise. The current price and billing frequency are displayed before purchase. A subscription continues and may renew automatically until canceled. Customers can use the Stripe customer portal made available through PathForward Learning to manage or cancel their subscription. Unless otherwise stated, cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid billing period.
11. Workbook and other one-time digital purchases
Digital workbooks and other one-time digital products are delivered electronically. Except where required by applicable law, completed digital purchases may be non-refundable after access or download has been provided. If a duplicate charge, technical delivery failure, or billing error occurs, the customer should contact PathForward Learning at support@pathfowardlearning.com so the issue can be reviewed.
12. Pricing, taxes, and payment processing
Prices may change for future purchases. Applicable taxes, if any, may be added as required by law. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. PathForward Learning does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers in its application database.
13. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise identified, PathForward Learning's original text, lesson structure, questions, explanations, graphics, branding, workbook content, software, and other materials are owned by or licensed to PathForward Learning and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Purchasing access does not transfer ownership of the content.
14. Limited personal-use license
PathForward Learning grants users a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use purchased or free content for personal educational purposes. Users may print a purchased workbook for their own personal use. Users may not reproduce, upload, resell, sublicense, scrape, systematically copy, publish, distribute, share paid files publicly, remove ownership notices, or commercially exploit PathForward Learning content without written permission.
15. Prohibited conduct
Users may not interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, automate excessive requests, circumvent payment or access controls, impersonate another person, use the service for unlawful activity, or use PathForward Learning content to create or train a competing commercial product without permission.
16. AI and automated features
Any AI-powered or automated study assistance is provided for educational support only. Automated responses can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a particular learner's situation. Users should verify important information and should not submit highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, legal, or confidential information into AI study prompts.
17. Third-party services and links
PathForward Learning may use or link to third-party services, including payment processors, hosting providers, analytics providers, AI providers, educational resources, or official testing websites. PathForward Learning does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content, policies, security, pricing, or conduct.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PathForward Learning and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or freedom from errors. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some exclusions may not apply to you.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PathForward Learning and its owners, operators, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of data, profits, opportunities, employment, educational placement, or expected results; or damages arising from reliance on educational content, third-party services, service interruptions, or unauthorized account access. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, total liability will be limited to the amount the user paid to PathForward Learning during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or the minimum amount required by applicable law, whichever is greater.
20. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to be responsible for claims, losses, or expenses arising from their unlawful use of the service, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or unauthorized reproduction or distribution of PathForward Learning content.
21. Service changes and availability
Features, content, pricing, access methods, and technical requirements may change. PathForward Learning may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, business operations, or product development.
22. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except to the extent another jurisdiction's consumer-protection law must apply. Subject to any rights that cannot legally be waived, disputes will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in New York. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
23. Severability and waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
24. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as PathForward Learning changes or legal requirements evolve. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
25. Contact
